The Off The Ball Podcast

CONGRATULATIONS LeBron James finally got his elusive first NBA championship. He has silence the  critics and now can be know as a champion. He has also cemented himself as the clear best player in the NBA right now and no one can debate that. He also added NBA Finals MVP, this man just dominated a OKC team that hasn't been dominated like this all year. It took nine long years to get to this moment but its finally here albeit not in Cleveland but none the less he did it as a member of the hated Miami Heat. There will be people who say, well he needed Bosh and D-Wade to get a ring UHM you can't do it by yourself in the NBA in order to win a title Jordan needed Pippen, Robinson needed Duncan, Kareem needed Magic all those great players needed other great players and key role players to win titles. LeBron  didn't  handle the move to Miami the right way but he couldn't do it alone in Cleveland so he went to Miami where he didn't have to carry the load on his back gam...

I started off the year saying that the Heat and Thunder will meet in the NBA Finals and my prediction has stayed true BUT i had Miami in 6 and LeBron getting that illustrious 1st championship, i am going to have to change my prediction. I see the Thunder taking the series in 6 games simply because they are young, deep and flat out better then Miami. Miami although they have LeBron who is playing at a ridiculous level now, he cant carry them by himself and his two battery mates Bosh and Wade are banged up big time while there counter parts are healthy and ready to take advantage of the battered Miami Heat. Westbrook is key, he will need to stay under control and not force things when he has the ball in his hands cause if he plays his game and plays the way he has been playing he'll be unstoppable. Miami must have D Wade become "Flash" in order to win this series and have Chris Bosh contribute at least 85 of his usual self. LeBron James vs Kevin Durant w...

LeBron James aka "The Chosen One" put up an historic performance Sunday. His stat line was something you see in NBA 2k12, 40 points, 18 rebounds, 9 assist in a must win game 4 vs the Pacers. LeBron is easily the most ridiculed athlete in sports today and maybe ever. Every aspect of his game gets criticized BUT this man can play the game of basketball unlike anyone. I know people get on LBJ including myself a lot but he is the best player in the NBA right now. He can score and attack the basket unlike any other person in the league, his defense is stout but what has hurt him as a player is his ability to "Close" the game in big games. He's 0-2 in the NBA Finals which has also hurt his legacy as a player but and its a big but if he can possibly show that killer instincts and get to the Finals and win the championship and close games the way he should be able to do the hatred and animosity towards LeBron will slowly go away and his place as the best player in ...

Carmelo Anthony has been in the NBA since 2003. During that time he has put up some amazing numbers and appeared in 5 all star games BUT he has only gotten out of the first round once. One time has Carmelo gotten out of the first round now i know its not all on him but the likes of Dirk, Derrick Rose, CP3, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, Wade and LeBron have been out the first round on numerous occasions and they are considered "Superstars' on the NBA and Carmelo in my eyes has all the tools to be a superstar but he isn't in that category yet. Superstars make there team better no matter who's in the starting five or on the bench and Carmelo with all the talent on the Knicks roster (Tyson, Amare, J.R, Novak, Shumpert) he led them to just a 6th seed and yeah i know once Dantoni was let go he started balling up and they played better but it doesn't matter if you don't get it done playoff time.Playoff time is  where "Stars" become "Superstars" and ...
