The Patriots have signed free agent TE Kellen Winslow. This is a solid pick up by the Pats with Hernandez out 4-6 with an ankle injury. Just last season Winslow had 75 catches on a bad Buccaneers team so this was a great pickup by Belichick and company.

Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo is expected to miss the season said coach Shanahan and the defensive lineman Adam Carriker is also done for the year. These injuries are crushing blows to the Skins playoff hopes.

Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez is out 6 weeks maybe even more with a serious sprained ankle.
